started his retail career at Marks & Spencer as part of their Young Management Training Programme. Prior to 2004 performed a number of Regional and Store Manager Roles, which included running £100 million Stores to £500 million Regions. In addition, held various positions in different parts of the business including Store Development, Store Operations, Foods, Womenswear and the Chief Executive’s Office. In 2004 became Head of HR for part of the business, progressing to Divisional Director Retail Parks and Divisional Executive for Wales and West.
Darren joined BHS as Retail Director in 2008, progressing to Commercial Director and then Chief Operating Officer for both BHS and Outfit. In March 2015 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer.
In September 2016 Darren joined fashion business L.K.Bennett as Chief Executive, where he remained until 2018, when the business was sold.
With many years experience at a senior level, Darren has led businesses in both growth and turnaround, re-structured businesses and has a clear understanding of large and complex businesses. This experience gives Darren the knowledge and understanding to assist other retail leaders looking for talent solutions as well as C-Suite executives looking for their next executive role or build their non-executive portfolio.
